Yesterday is a journaling service that turns a year of your entries into a printed book. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, email hello@yesterdayjournal.com.
Yesterday is a service provided by MXJQNN LTD., a company registered in England and Wales, with its registered office at 69 Watcombe Road, Bournemouth, Dorset, BH6 3LX. MXJQNN LTD. is the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and name.
- Optional profile details: if you choose to share them, your age, country, and reasons for writing. These help us tailor the experience and plan postage, and they never appear in your book.
- Your journal: the entries you write and any photos you add to your book.
- Payment information: handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
- Technical and usage data: basic, privacy-friendly analytics (no cookies and no cross-site tracking) and error diagnostics that help us keep the service working.
How we use it
- To provide the journal and your account.
- To create, print, and post your book at the end of your year.
- To send you service messages, such as confirming an entry received by email or a password reset.
- To diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve the service.
We do not sell your data, show you ads, or use your journal entries for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the providers we rely on to run Yesterday:
- Supabase: database, authentication, and file storage.
- Stripe: subscription payments.
- Postmark: sending and receiving email.
- Vercel: hosting and privacy-friendly analytics.
- Sentry: error monitoring.
- Our print and fulfilment partner: to print your book and post it to you, they receive the contents of your book and your delivery address.
Keeping your data
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently removes your entries and account data. We may retain limited records, such as transaction history, where the law requires it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can delete your account in the app, or email hello@yesterdayjournal.com and we will help.
Security and international transfers
Your data is encrypted in transit. Some of our providers process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where they do, appropriate safeguards apply.
Children
Yesterday is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the date above.
